We are proud to present two Sacred Geometry Workshops with Michael Rice and Nicholas Kelly.
These workshops are an introduction sacred geometry and its application to architecture, art, design, building.
Sacred Geometry is the blue print of creation and the genesis of all form. It is an ancient science that explores and explains the energy patterns that create and unify all things and reveals the precise way that energy organizes itself.
Here are the two workshops being offered:
- Foundation Workshop
11th to 13th Sept. 2009 – Still Meadow Conference and Retreat Center Damascus, OR
This workshop is designed to present a thorough grounding in the science and art of Sacred Geometry, as well as practical applications and exercises. Areas to be covered include design, art, architecture, healing, vibration, harmonic resonance, the workings and movement of the human body, sun-earth-brain-heart coherence and how to create truly sustainable environments and communities.
- Master Class Workshop
14th to 16th Sept. 2009 – Still Meadow Conference and Retreat Center Damascus, OR
This advanced master class workshop focuses on the applications of sacred geometry to design, architecture, graphic, landscape and interior design. Day one is in a classroom environment where principles, practical examples and applications of sacred geometry to architectural design are presented. Chod Retreat with Lama Wangdu Rinpoche
Lama Wangdu Rinpoche initiates practitioners into the ancient Tibetan practice of Chod
August 7,8, & 9, 2009
Here’s a note from Betsy Bergstrom about the upcoming event with Lama Wangdu Rinpoche here at Still Meadow:
I am delighted to announce that Lama Wangdu Rinpoche, a renowned Buddhist Lama from Tibet, will be teaching the ancient practice of Chod. This dismemberment and offering practice is a powerful Tibetan tantric practice.
Chod means “cutting through”. Personal fears and our limited vision of the nature of reality is what become cut through. The
practice includes chanting of ancient texts, using drums, bells and trumpets, the visualization of personal dismemberment, merging with divine deities, and an ultimate compassionate offering of one’s own dismembered body to different classes of spirits, some fearsome and some sublime. It is an ultimate offering of true compassion and it changes the practitioner in amazing ways, as well as having the by-product of healing, depossession and space clearing.
His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, acknowledged Lama Wangdu Rinpoche as an important Chod practitioner and teacher. His Holiness gave him the task of preserving this ancient practice. Wangdu Rinpoche’s Chod path and life had been as a “crazy wisdom practitioner” with the freedom to move around as spirit willed it previous to his meeting with the Dalai Lama. The Dalai Lama asked him to settle down and gave him a monastery in which to preserve the vast knowledge and teachings of Chod. He is able to give this practice to non-Buddhists and Buddhists who have not gone through the preliminary practices with the Dalai Lama’s express permission. His Holiness indicates that this is an important practice of great antiquity and that it has a great deal of meaning for our time and is to be open to the public who feels called to the practice.
In experiencing Chod, I saw immediate connections between this practice and the shamanic dismemberment practices. In practicing Chod, I experienced the powerful benefits of this practice for myself and for others.
Lama Wangdu Rinpoche will be conducting a powerful and beautiful Chod initiation and empowerment, which connect the participant to an important lineage dating back to the 12th century. He will give the teachings of the text and visualizations. With his guidance we will also learn the melody of the chant and the use of the bell, the larger Chod drum called damaru, use of the Kangllng or thighbone trumpet. Lama Wangdu will also teach the Chod Dance and give each participant a personal blessing. (Following this blessing it is customary to give Lama Wangdu and the translator a Dana or gift of money which brings you great merit. A large portion of the tuition fee goes to Lama Wangdu Rinpoche).
There will be a fluent English translator. Supportive shamanic journeys will be offered by Betsy Bergstrom in the evening to round out this experience. This is an amazing opportunity that will change you and bring many blessings into your life.
Many blessings, Betsy Bergstrom

Voice Dialogue Camp
All Levels Residential Program
August 15 – 25, 2009
Still Meadow Retreat Center
Imagine spending 10 days deeply immersed in your own consciousness journey in a safe and dynamic learning environment in the beautiful foothills of Mt. Hood, Oregon.
You will have an extraordinary opportunity to learn Voice Dialogue from some of the most senior and celebrated teachers in the field as they teach Voice Dialogue and it’s applications to the practices of therapy, coaching, dream work and psycho-spiritual evolution. You will experience this vital work for yourself, in your own deepening journey of self-awareness, relationship healing and creative expression. A multiple track curriculum allows participants to craft their program training to meet their own personal and professional level.
Voice Dialogue is a psycho-spiritual approach to consciousness work; it is an awareness practice, forging a more conscious relationship between ego and soul. It is energy work, used to cultivate and feel, non-judgmental Awareness and Ego together. It has a natural resonance with meditation and can be used to ground our spiritual practice with our instinctual nature. It is used to discover, embody and then differentiate from the archetypal expressions of soul and nature and to learn how to compassionately operate with more choice and more comfort with paradox. It is used in therapy, coaching and spiritual practice to help subjects become energetically aware of their various inner selves, owned and disowned, that are lived out unconsciously.

The Promise of Our Dark Age:
The Wisdom, Strength and Beauty We Are Discovering
Living Earth is grateful to offer an intensive residential course this summer with Joanna Macy, revered Buddhist scholar, living systems theorist, and deep ecologist. For five days in early July, Joanna will lead us in an exploration of “the promise of our dark age.”
In planning this workshop, Joanna noted, “As we free ourselves from the delusions and dependencies bred by the industrial growth society, something wonderful can happen to us. If we manage to steer clear of panic, we may well find at last the wild power of our creativity and solidarity.” As we move through this unprecedented era of planetary transition, this creativity and solidarity are the most powerful gifts we can contribute to “the great turning.”
Joanna Macy’s work on despair and empowerment, her Work that Reconnects, and her understanding of our era as an epic time of Great Turning, are legendary. A respected scholar and dedicated activist, Joanna is a powerful voice in the anti-nuclear movement as well as communities for peace, justice, environmental defense, and ecological consciousness.
Joanna’s four decades of intense commitment to this work give her impeccable stature, authority, and depth. Thousands of activists around the world who work for peace, justice, ecological integrity, and a sustainable future have been profoundly influenced by Joanna’s workshops, retreats, and presentations , as well as her countless articles and a dozen books.
